    I wonder why it is that something that should cost U.S. consumers around $3,000 has to go for $7,000 to $8,000. I’m certain that shipping is not the difference. Why can’t we have something that appears practical and environmentally friendly and not be priced out of the market by such a vicious profit motive. I mean, come on.

    In response to Mr. Kaiser’s comment, I am sure there are several factors in the price jump. One will be the taxes that our government will add on, considering India (world’s largest democracy) does not have Favorite Nation Trade status (like China who follow a “different” idea of governing its people). Another is the idea that we Americans have that if something is priced too low, it must be junk (Daihatsu for example).

    Either way, 7-8k for a brand new high tech looking little car isn’t such a bad deal, in my humble opinion.
