The world of business can truly appreciate when people keep their word. With this bit of news I can finally understand why that is.

About a week ago, Jeep showed us a diesel engined Overlander and came up with a promise about more diesel engines being sold in the United States and here we are, with them keeping promises.

You know the deal with Fiat & Chrysler so you’ll be no surprised to find out that Sergio Marchionne was behind this information making it into the hands of the media.

Jeep’s 2011 Grand Cherokee will get a new 3.0 liter V6 in North America sometime by 2013 and the special part about is that it will be powered by diesel.

Sure, some still can’t consider diesel as anything other than commercial vehicles worthy but as tech geeks and fuel economy fans will tell you, the situation is different.

This particular engine that’s going to be slotted in the brand new 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee isn’t totally new as it’s been available in Europe for quite some time.

The 3.0 liter CRD outputs some 237 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque and yet it returns 19% better fuel economy and some 20 percent less CO2 emissions thanks to Multijet II management.
