The BMW German based carmaker has launched some latest information according to which the upcoming M models would be consequently equipped with an xDrive version, or with the all-wheel drive technology.

With the rumors stating that first, the BMW M5 and M6 might use this performance, a report with some spy shots showing the BMW M5 all-wheel drive on some tests, have already emerged at the surface.

Thanks to the guys from the Auto Blog online auto magazine, the BMW M5 has been spotted on tests, the model being showcased while turning all its wheels during ice tests. Hence the notice according to which the BMW carmaker is already testing the xDrive performance on the powerful M5.

How does the all-wheel drive system work? Basically, it is quite simple, as the power is sent to both front and rear axles, with a 40 to 60 percentage drive rate. Thus, the car is more stable on the roads, managing to redress itself quite quick in case the wheels grip on snowy roads or on tight corners.

The BMW M5 AWD is also set to be powerful under the hood, the engine being rumored to output around 600 horsepower. More details with the BMW M5 AWD will be revealed later on.
