The 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe has been unofficially declared the number one American car in terms of design, managing to outrun its older sibling, the 2015 ATS model, in terms of power.

We are talking here about the same 2.0T engine, also seen on the standard Cadillac ATS, but with an increase in power, as now the coupe is more powerful with around 35 pound-feet of torque, reaching a total of 295 lb-ft of torque.

The increase in power seen on the 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe is due to the revised engine calibration that eventually led to an increased boost pressure from the engine`s four-cylinder`s turbocharger.

To recap, we are dealing here with a total of 147.5 lb-ft of torque available between 2,100 and 3,000 rpm, while the full 295 lb-ft of torque, can be achieved somewhere between 3,000 rpm and 4,600 rpm.

David Masch, the chief engineer of the sports car explains the need of the extra power, saying that the ATS Coupe needed additional torque in order to improve the aerodynamic features of the vehicle.
